FACIAL MASSAGE FAQs

IS IT OK TO GET MASSAGED DURING PREGNANCY?

YES WITH A 3RD TRIMESTER NUANCE. In fact, it can be beneficial for moving extra fluid in the areas massaged. In your first and second trimester, the limiting factor regarding massage and pregnancy is your comfort and what your OBGYN recommends for you. In the third trimester, I recommend consulting with your OBGYN. I do use bolsters for under the knees and can adjust how and what I work on. ** Please communicate with me so that I may prepare to accommodate your needs.

I HAVE ACNE, IS IT OK TO GET MASSAGED IN THE AREA OF A BREAKOUT?

YES, WITH A GRADE Nuance. With acne grades one and two a massage is indicated and usually beneficial. One may even experience a purge or seemingly worse acne for a week or two after a massage treatment. This may seem bad but it is actually really good, all the movement helps your skin start cleaning out the clogged follicles! Also, massage can be helpful for acne scars by stimulating collagen production and cell turnover.

With grades three and four, or cystic acne, I work strategically by focusing on lymph drainage.

I HAVE BOTOX AND OR FILLER, IS IT OK TO GET MASSAGED IN THE AREA OF MY INJECTIONS?

DEPENDS, If injections were in a small area, I can avoid that area. If injections are at least two weeks old, I can work carefully in the area. If you have recent injections (within two weeks) all over your face, décolleté, and scalp, we will need to wait the two weeks.

read through the policies page on this website to be sure you will be in compliance, thank you!
